Chris Blomeley

Proprietor Chris Blomeley is a Victorian based and raised Bloodstock Agent. Having grown up in a racing family and around horses, Chris furthered his passion for racing after graduating from St Joseph’s College, Newtown. Whilst at RMIT University studying business, Chris used all of his spare time to attend race meetings and further his knowledge. His enthusiasm for the thoroughbred industry led him to pursue hands on work in stables and work experience with prominent agent, Adrian Hancock, around his studies and confirmed his career ambitions.

Soon after, Chris took an opportunity to move to New Zealand, in a role that provided marketing planning and implementation for a number of prominent stud farms, including The Oaks and Westbury Stud. Chris used his time in the Waikato and around the Karaka region to not only gain an important understanding of thoroughbred industry businesses, but to also pick the mind of respected horsemen with the view of becoming a Bloodstock Agent in his future.
Returning to Australia in 2009, Chris took up a position in nominations and sales at the famed Swettenham Stud in Victoria, under the tutelage of Adam Sangster. This opportunity gave Chris the ability to observe Bloodstock as part of the role and also to expand his network amongst commercial breeders and successful trainers.

His next role saw him start at Inglis in Sydney in early 2011 where he was part of the team that worked on the now popular online sale portal, whilst also trading stock privately and inspecting yearlings for clients. Whilst at Inglis, Chris was engaged by Darren Dance to find a European stayer for the Melbourne Cup. This project was not only a success but also allowed him the profile to pursue options abroad.

In mid 2012, Chris relocated to the world’s most important racing town, Newmarket in the United Kingdom. He took up work as an agent (Australasian Representative) in his own right with McKeever Bloodstock, under the hugely successful selector of racehorses Johnny McKeever.

After four years and a number of successful purchases, Chris returned home to Australia in 2016 to establish CB Bloodstock. Chris strives for success for his clients and leaves no stone unturned in order to try and help them achieve their race track ambitions.
